Central Austin

Central Austin is one of the most desirable places in the Greater Austin Area because it truly has a little something for everyone. Great restaurants, outdoor activities and nightlife abound in Austin all mingling with the lively spirit that overflows from the renowned University of Texas. With features such as Town Lake, 6th Street, Zilker Park, the Texas State Capitol, the original Alamo Drafthouse and the Whole Foods flagship store, there’s no shortage of variety. The area earns its title of Live Music Capital of the World playing host to the world renowned SXSW (South by Southwest) festival, ACL (Austin City Limits) festival, Fun Fun Fun Fest and many, many more -not to mention the plethora of live music venues around town.  Central Austin neighborhoods are only a short drive from downtown and most Austin attractions. Art, music, vintage shopping, quirky coffee shops, farmers markets and food trailers all give Austin a unique local vibe and when coupled with the beautiful parks, water sports, hike and bike trails, and robust nightlife, Austinites have every opportunity to stay active. Austin continues to show job growth ranking number 3 for most jobs gained since the recession according to the Austin Business Journal. Major employers in the central Austin area include the University of Texas, the State of Texas and Seton Healthcare. The great location tends to be included in the price of real estate, so prepare for higher prices when looking in central Austin. Once you’re here, also prepare to never want to leave!
